The federal government requires colleges/universities who award Title IV funding to verify information on the student’s FAFSA. Students who have been selected to verify information are required to complete this process in order to be awarded Title IV funding. Title IV funding may be used to cover the cost of a student’s educational expenses, including tuition and fees.
Per Federal Guidelines, this information is reviewed by the university to ensure data provided on the FAFSA is correct and federal aid is awarded accurately. If you have been selected for verification your financial aid may not be processed until all documentation has been received. If you are submitting documents at the end of the semester or academic year there is not a guarantee that your aid will be reprocessed before the semester/year comes to an end. Not all aid can be reprocessed after the end of a semester. To ensure you receive all of the aid you’re eligible for please submit the requested documentation as soon as possible.
Check your To Do List on One.IU to find if you were selected for verification and what documents are required.
Please contact the Office of Student Financial Services at 317-274-4162 or finaid@iupui.edu with questions or for assistance.
