Your University Email

Be sure to check your university email

While you’re an IUPUI student, you must have an official university email account. Official university communications will be sent to this account unless prohibited by law.

You’re expected to:

  • Check your official email account frequently
  • Ensure your account is not full, which will prevent you from receiving messages
  • Realize that certain messages may be time-critical

Forwarding your email

We don’t recommend that you have your university email forwarded to an outside address such as Gmail. If you choose to do so, you’re risking missing out on important information. The university is not responsible for any difficulties that may occur in the proper or timely transmission or access of email forwarded to any unofficial email address, or for any problems that may result.

In short, if your email forwarding fails for any reason and you don’t receive important information, you’re still responsible for knowing and taking action on the contents of those messages.

Other email addresses

If you’ve listed any alternative email addresses in the personal information section of One.IU, make sure you keep them up to date. They’re a great way for us to keep in touch with you when you’re no longer a student.
